VET in Masonry and Welding in Kenya
In order to contribute to the fight against the high youth unemployment in Kenya, the vocational training partnership will enable the Don Bosco Boys Town Vocational School (DBBT) to offer modernized and practice-oriented training and further education in welding and masonry. Furthermore, a structured further training and certification process for semi-skilled and on the job trained workers for welding and masonry is to be established with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) and the Kenya Federation of Master Builders (KFMB), and vocational training is to be geared less theoretically and more to the needs of the companies through increased cooperation with the private sector.
