The African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM) has been working since its founding in 2015 to improve the framework conditions for building a sustainable and competitive automotive industry on the African continent through local adding value. The association maintains close contact with pan-African institutions and national governments and is regarded as an important contributor and advisor in these circles. To continue and expand its significant work at the established level, AAAM receives support from the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).
As part of the Chamber and Association Partnership (KVP) launched in November 2024, AAAM will be guided in developing and implementing a sustainable financial concept, which will include the creation of services and enhanced membership management. Additionally, VDA will support AAAM in advancing sustainable topics such as policy guidelines for electric vehicles, standards for charging infrastructure, recycling technology, and the regulation of used vehicle imports, as well as measures for workforce qualification and recruitment with a particular focus on women.
